Senior Scholarship Bulletin
Updated: January 25, 2012
Please note: Scholarships in black are
current.
Scholarships in red were
offered last year, but we haven’t received materials or had them confirmed for
this year.
Scholarships in purple
were offered already this year, and their due dates have passed.
TIPS:
1.
Check your email and make certain that your
scholarship site is not blocked. Otherwise, information that you need may be
forwarded to trash. I know of a student who made it to finalist on a national
scholarship and missed out because the notification and request for additional
information was in her “trash”.
2. Complete
the applications early and have someone proof them for errors and to give
feedback. I am happy to do it if you give me enough lead time.
3. Make
applications neat and error free. Don’t hesitate to call the scholarship
sponsor if you have questions.
4. Apply,
apply, apply…the more scholarships you apply for the
better your odds become. It is like shooting free throws…the more that you
throw up the more likely it is that one will go in.
5. Always
send a thank you when you receive a scholarship. Someone has sacrificed time
and money to help you achieve your dreams. Let them know that you are
appreciative.
