The WCHS Art Club visited the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City on November 11, 2017.   The group raised funds this fall for the trip by painting homecoming windows for a donation from 10 Washington Businesses.  The students went on two tours at the museum.  One on the medieval arts and one of the Picasso exhibit.  The Nelson- Atkins is the only Museum in the United States showing this Picasso Exhibit.  It is on display for the next 6 months.   The students also had time to explore the museum on their own.   “I was very impressed by the collection at this museum, we saw so many works by well-known artists – Van Gogh, Monet, Caravaggio,”  said Erin Toole, WCHS Art teacher, “What a great experience for our students.”

The following students participated in the trip:  Hailee Bennett, Jaise Chandler, Kylie Cordry, Jasmine Greenwood, McKenzie Huband, Alyssa Jenson, Garrett Kohlmeyer, Josiah Lucas, Emily Meyer, Kirsten Ouellette, Emma Portenier, Hannah Portenier, Chase Riley, Jenae Romesier, Allie Rumsey, Jake Toole, Nina Villasenor and sponsors Mrs. Erin Toole, Rose Ann Zach, and Traci Woodward.
