Staff member tested positive for COVID

On Wednesday, September 30, USD 108 received confirmation that we had a staff member test positive for COVID.

All exposed students and staff have been notified and quarantined.  Quarantine is in effect for these affected persons until Friday, October 9.

If you have not been notified, your student will still be able to attend class in person and school will be as normal.

While we have been sanitizing our classroom desks and other materials in the room on an HOURLY basis, we have also thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the affected classroom and areas again.

All persons being quarantined have been advised to consult with their doctor if they exhibit ANY signs of illness.

While these students and staff are quarantined, the students will be Remote Learning and the staff will be Remote Teaching.  We will have coverage for the students that are still left at school during these teacher’s class periods.

Remote Learning for the quarantined students will start on Friday, October 2.

Yes, our staff AND students wear masks on a continuous and almost permanent basis. Temperatures are also taken on a daily basis.   KDHE has advised that even if we ARE wearing masks, individuals still need to quarantine because the risk is still there, although much, much less with masks on.  We will continue to wear masks while at school.

Remember, to wear your mask, social distance as much as possible, sanitize hands frequently, and consult with your doctor if you are feeling ill.
