A fun and busy week celebrating Dr. Seuss! Dr. Seuss wrote such perfect books for first graders. Some of them are just right for us to read and others have a wonderful story and lesson. We were read to, read to each other, and of course had to make a batch of Oobleck!

The 5th grade ELA students just finished “The Adventures of Don Quixote.” Today they took an oath and were dubbed knights. Then, they had to make a trip to save Princess Heather in the office.

Today is a good day. Ben Tegtmeier came in to talk about his Kansas licence plate experience and about graphic design with our 6th graders. I so appreciate his time and willingness to talk to our Tigers. He did a great job and I believe that some of the 6th graders will pursue graphic design because of Ben's love and passion for his profession. Thanks again Ben, you gave kids dreams to catch today!

Reading is an essential skill. Did you know reading can grow vocabulary, build empathy for others, decrease stress, and help to navigate the adult world. Students who read at home 20 minutes a night help to guarantee their succes as a reader.

Joree with a beautiful jewelry cabinet made out of walnut. She modified the plans to add the mirror and the smaller boxes on the inside. It turned out well and will be a great way to organize her jewelry collection. Good job, Joree!
