Most people enjoy seeing students perform their pieces. Rounds start at 4:00pm, 5:30pm and 7:15pm. You can do one round or all three. Eight members of the WCHS forensics team competed in a very large tournament in Marysville today Three events came home with medals and all did very well. Kady placed 1st in informative speech and has qualified for State. Drake and Garrett placed 5th in a huge field of improvised duet acting and qualified for State Festival. Joy took home 6th place in Original oration.
And that’s a wrap for the 2022-2023 Ruby Reds season. Those four seniors in front were freshman when USD 108 combined the cheer and dance programs, starting the tiger tradition of the Ruby Reds squad. Students in Business Essentials 7th hour have finished creating their businesses and have started on marketing plans. Having the stores, helps students understand and answer questions about marketing and SWOT analysis. We will be writing business plans soon. The city will viewable at parent teacher conferences.
Students in biology has started building their vertical garden structures we will be using to grow crops in class.
Extension agents Macy Hynek and Brooke Stamm joined us today to teach students in STEM 8 how to code robots to light up and play music when doing a variety of things.

The woodshop was lucky enough to have a generous donation from Kathleen. The students received a new Milwaukee impact/drill combo, Craftsman sander, sanding discs, and various drill bits and drivers. Kathleen is the grandmother of Grayson and Ruth. Thanks so much, Kathleen!
Regionals in Leavenworth, Boys results. Washington County placed 5th, just missing out qualifying for state but gave it all they had, and wow, was it fun to watch. we'll call it a season for now but look forward to next season and another chance to get back to state. Had an awesome bunch of kids to work with this year and couldn't be more proud of them!!!
Jon has been busy on the wood lathe making game calls. Here are his latest creations of a few duck calls he has meticulously crafted. He has taken to the wood lathe like a duck to water. Jon does an excellent job and I look forward to seeing the other game calls he turns.
