WCHS students took a tour of the cadaver lab at Cloud County Community College in Concordia this morning.

--7-12 Spring Music Concert,
Monday, May 9th, 2022,
7:00 p.m. in the H.S. Gym
--Parents and Music Students,
The students have been working hard to prepare for their upcoming Spring Concert. The times for the students to arrive are below. Please help your student(s) with their arrival times. Because I need to tune the band instruments, I will need the H.S. Band to arrive at 6:15 and The H.S. Chorus is to be here by 6:45 p.m. to warm up in the HS Music Room. The 7th and 8th grade Vocal Classes need to be here no later than 6:55 p.m. in their assigned seat in the gym. Guitar Class should plan to come into the music room around 6:45 p.m., get their guitar, and get it set up. It should already be tuned. Please help your student get here on time to warm up as it is important we are not running into the other class times and causing the concert to start late.
--I am asking that the students dress up. For the girls, this can include dresses, slacks, blouses, skirts, etc. For guys: dress shirts and ties, sweaters, slacks, khakis, etc. Please do not wear jeans unless it is a last resort. On the other hand, I do not want you to have to go out and buy anything for this concert.
--HS Chorus Students–We will be having a Bake Sale again for the Spring Concert. We only have $250.00 left to raise to pay off our Choir Robes, so would like to get that accomplished at this concert. Please help by bringing 2 or 3 items for the Bake Sale. You can bring anything such as cookies, bars, cakes, pies, loaves of bread, cupcakes, and even bags with 2 or 3 cookies in them (to charge .50 cents per bag), etc. You can even bring more if you want and decorate if you want. The prettier the better!! Thanks for your help with this.

If your child has an excused absence, such as an illness, family emergency, etc., they will be allowed to make up the points. Just a reminder that the 5th & 6th Grade Elementary Music Program is on Monday, May 2nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. We are asking that the students dress up. Our 4th grade field trip started at the Great Overland Station in Topeka and our visit to see “Sue: the T-Rex exhibit”. Sue is the largest most complete T-Rex fossil ever found. It was found in South Dakota. Ask the kids what they learned and what T-Rex breath smells like! Thank you PTO for funding our trip.
4th graders had a blast on our field trip. Thank you to our Classroom to Career sponsor, Washington Farm Bureau, for funding our trip to the Topeka Zoo and Dinosaurs Live and thanks to our room parents, Nurse Lisa and Dan the Bus Man for helping!
Spending time in Palm Springs networking with other after school professionals! Looking forward to bringing back new ideas and grateful for the time to refresh and brainstorm with people from other programs.
Mrs. Walter’s second grade students became published authors in a book called “Animals Around the World!” The students are very proud of their work and loved sharing their pictures and reading the stories that they wrote with their classmates and families.

Hi folks, just a reminder about the Kansas FFA Foundation meeting that the organization is having tonight at 7pm. The foundation is the support group that works behind the scenes to provide the funding for the Kansas FFA Programs, Activities and Awards that our local members benefit from in so many ways. If you are interested in coming this evening to listen and hear about the FFA program in action across the state, please consider joining us tonight at KSDS at 7pm. Anyone is welcome to attend!
