EXPLORE SPOTLIGHT: Abi, a sophomore at Washington high school has created a youtube channel to teach students how to make food correctly. Abi said, “My favorite part was probably making the videos because even though it was kind of stressful we all still laughed a lot.” People in her PBL classroom have told her they like her in their class because they get all the food she makes once she's done.

Kady, a sophomore at Washington county high school is creating a children's book called “Izy The Cowgirl Corgi.” She said her favorite part is experimenting, she is using a new software for her drawings. She got to experiment with all the different tools and figure out how to use them. Her grandparents have said they like her project and her mentor said her drawings were cute.

Congratulations to these three WCHS students who auditioned and made it into the KMEA (Kansas Music Educators Association) Band and Orchestra.

Unfortunately, this was for recognition only as the concert for Dec. 5th in Manhattan has been cancelled. However, these students can still audition for State KMEA which will hopefully take place in Wichita in February. CONGRATULATIONS! We are so proud of you!

AMY'S SPOTLIGHT: Amy, a sophomore at Washington high school has created tie dye t-shirts and a website to sell them on for her PBL project. Amy said her favorite part of her project is the advisor and she gets to create cool designs with dye. Mrs. Toole said “Amy's shirts make me happy.”

Bri, a sophomore at Washington high school has been making a website for a newsletter she is creating as her PBL project. Bri said she likes the fact that she gets to put useful information that will help people know what is going on in our school.

Emily, a junior at washington county held a dance camp for kids in grades k-6 for her PBL project. Emily said she enjoyed having the kids come in excited about being there and dancing. Parent Stephanie said, “Emily made her daughter feel confident and showed her how fun dancing can be!”
A huge shoutout to Elements Salon and Day Spa for providing coffee, hot chocolate, and other drinks during our inservice. We appreciated it greatly.
