Michelle Oehm came to visit the 6th graders and shared her amazing collection of artifacts. She has been an Indian artifact hunter for years and showed some of her collection to our 6th graders. The knowledge she shared with our students was invaluable! Michelle, you are a true gem! Thank you so much for taking the time to truly inspire our students. This week, in Ms. Keesecker’s class, our students will be reading an article that was published about Michelle’s once in a lifetime find. If you are interested, the link will be listed in the comments!

Mrs. Bakers class spent a lot of time and effort this week completing the writing process for their personal narrative. Students brainstormed, wrote rough drafts for an intro, body, and conclusion, edited their own, peer edited, typed their paper, and shared it in class.

Here is the weekly update. Info includes Parent/Teacher Conference dates & Parent Night Info for both HS volleyball and JH athletics parents.

Parents: 6th grade girls WILL be allowed to participate in JH Basketball for the 24-25 season. Girls only. This is not mandatory, however, if they choose to the option is available.
WCJH VB played in our first tournament of the year. The girls came home with a 7th place finish. Rocky start but the girls finished strong and were a lot of fun to watch!!

Good luck to our junior high and high school volleyball teams as they head to tournaments today.

To the High School Football Team: you have so many little eyes looking up to you on and off the field. In their eyes you are the coolest people in school. The 4th grade flag football team that play in the Clay Center league planned on their own to dress like the high school football team. Look close...jerseys, jeans, boots, and hats!

The rock painting morning club is adding beauty to our rock landscape.

The Washington County FFA Chapter placed first in Land Judging at the North Central District competition in Abilene on Wednesday, 9/25. Kileab Willbrant led the team by placing 3rd individually, with McKenzie Baker- 5th, Cayden Meadows - 7th, and Gavyn LeDuc 9th. The Greenhand Team placed 3rd, with Witt Keesecker finishing as the 1st place individual in the Greenhand Division. Congratulations Land Judgers!

No XC practice today, Friday 9/27/24. You all ran well yesterday and could use a day off to recover.
Look at this beautiful walnut TV Stand that Alyssa made last year in woods class. She did a great job and I love how the doors turned out. Good job, Alyssa!

Booster Club sponsored the football team to be morning greeters for the elementary this morning. Some of the greeters were challenged into a game of football with one of the morning clubs. I'm not sure who the winning team was, but let's say fun was had by all!
