Mrs. Walter’s second grade class learned about heating and cooling changes. We ended the week by making ice cream in a bag. Their favorite part was getting to eat ice cream at the end of the experiment.
Fun times on Free Friday
Mrs. Hedke's 3rd graders were hard at work this week. Students gave their animal presentaions to the class, they worked on the bully handbook project with Mrs. Lucas 3rd grade, in art we focused on completing our oil pastels, math was all about grouping factors, in cursive writing we are about done with lower case letters, woot woot. In social studies we talked all about different landmarks in the midwest region, and in science we learned watched cool videos and had discussions about collisions. We ended the week with a pep rally and a giant cookie snack to celebrate our teamwork links!
The WCES Stand Up to Bullying Week starts Monday!
The game of choice lately for many of our first and second grade boys…drop kick that ball across the playground. It’s fun to watch them have fun.

Students in STEM class learned about the sensitivity of the sense of touch in various lab stations today.
Students in Human Anatomy and Physiology have been making connective tissue models in class the past couple days.
This week students in biology have been learning about diffusion and osmosis by placing shell-less eggs in various solutions.
Our two fourth grade classes have been working on math fluency. Today they came together to compete as a class for accuracy and number of multiplication questions answered in a timed contest on 99math.com. Our 4th graders are 93% accurate and answered 1390 questions in 4 minutes! We are Tiger Strong!

Ms. O'Death has had quite a few visitors lately but not all are as "friendly" as Scott Bokelman.
Pete Sherlock, DVM stopped in the District Office to see Ms. O'Dea but had to settle for talking to Ms. O'Death instead.
Mrs. Baker’s class has started learning all 50 states and capitals. They are busy preparing for their Northeast test on Friday.
