FCCLA has a Top 10 Finalist! Garrett Hill in Job Interview will be on stage tomorrow!!! We are so excited for him. Today was spent in workshop sessions all day. It was a good day of new ideas and networking. We ate dinner at a restaurant featured on Good Network. It had a huge menu with a variety of cuisines.

Our 3rd day at FCCLA NLC started with youth workshops and adviser sessions. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch, went to the Denver Zoo and Garden of the Gods for the afternoon and evening. It was cool here so the animals were out. At the Garden of the Gods, we hiked the trails to the top of the formations for a breathtaking view of the mountains and surrounding areas at dusk, missing the rain showers by minutes. The students had never been to these places. They loved them. We ate at a authentic Mexican restaurant for dinner, which Leslye gave a good review!

Today our students competed at FCCLA NLC STAR Events. They felt very good about their presentations and had a great experience. They also attended youth sessions, RED Talk sessions and met new friends while trading state pins. Mrs. Zabokrtsky served as a judge for STAR Events. We spent the evening go karting and axe throwing, topped off with Boba Tea! It was an eventful, yet long day!

FBLA NLC Day 4: fun and awards We started our day with a tour of the Georgia Aquarium, College Football Hall of Fame, and some students made it to the Civil Rights Museum while others saw a dolphin show at the aquarium. We built in some rest/packing time due to rain and attended the awards ceremony. All the anxiety and stress of the trip travel was worth it watching Kady Toole cross the stage for 8th place in the nation for the Electronic Career Portfolio event! Tomorrow, we fly home. We ask for good thoughts sent our way so we may get home safely and on time!

FBLA NLC Day 4: Today, we attended workshops and watched some finals. We were all able to support Kady and watch her presentation on her extensive portfolio about her books and illustrator career research. For a late lunch, we went to a local Hattie Bs to eat hot chicken. It was a fun experience trying the different levels of "heat". For our evening activity, we attended the block party and enjoyed the lip sync competition.

FBLA NLC Day 2: These 10 students were phenomenal in their ability to handle the myriad of travel challenges we faced on Tuesday. We experienced many unexpected travel delays in KC and finally caught a plane in St. Louis. We want to thank Aundrea Bruna and our Valley Heights friends for their help in getting us to Atlanta. Attached is a picture of us happy to finally be on the subway, which was a first for many students.

JH Boys Summer Basketball Camp has concluded! Started camp with a goal of 1500 shots in 6 sessions. With everyone's busy schedules, we had 6 complete that goal! A few others will reach the goal on their own. Proud of the effort & commitment these fine young men showed!

FBLA NLC Trip day 1: Woke up to a notification that our flight was cancelled and scheduled for 5:41am Tuesday. To make it easier for our drivers, Erin Toole and Amy Hoover, we drove down to KC Monday night. To pass the time at the hotel, the presentation groups practiced speaking near each other to simulate the day of competition. At nationals, we have a pipe and drape system which has students presenting every 8 feet. It is nerve wracking at first, but now the kids feel more prepared.
