This week WCHS was blessed to have Jim Bohling, Junior Roop, and the Rod Stewart Family come demonstrate milling logs into lumber for the woodshop. The lumber will be transformed into beautiful projects to be cherished for a long time. Thanks to all who helped!




Our elementary students with October birthdays enjoyed a yummy birthday lunch with family and friends yesterday.

We had a great day at the District D FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference. Our students were awesome....in fact, they were so awesome they earned the Chapter Image Award! Way to go Washington County FCCLA Chapter. This award is based on professionalism, enthusiasm, adhering to rules of the day, participation, and proper attire.

The Lady Tigers headed to Doniphan West to take on the Lady Mustangs and the Linn Lady Bulldogs.
The JV lost to D-west 9-25,18-25.
The JV also lost Linn 15-25, 22-25
The varsity won both defeating linn 18-25, 25-18, 25-10 and Dwest 28-26, 25-16.
Great job all around!!! Keep up the good work tigers!!!
Wednesday night, October 4, is scholarship work night. Come to the library anytime from 6 to 8pm to work with Mrs. Toole on finding and applying for scholarships. Sponsored by the Infinity Project.

High School Scholars Bowl Shirts are available. (These are not required for team participants to have but they can wear them to meets if they like.) Parents and fans are welcome to purchase as well. (Feel free to print the form or there are more in the office or in the art room).

Konza Prarie Dental will be here tomorrow for dental screenings! The state of Kansas requires schools to provide free dental screenings to all students. A completed form is required only for services beyond the screening. Look for more information this evening in your K-6 grader's bookbags/folders. A huge thanks to Maggie and Grady Bruna for donating pumpkins to WCES. The pumpkins will be used in our morning clubs.

The PTO is providing a Baked Potato Bar for the teachers on the first night of Parent-Teacher conferences, October 19th.
We are still in need of several items.
--20 potatoes (cleaned and wrapped) *3 spots
--5 pounds of hamburger
--1 package shredded cheese
--1 container of Sour Cream
--1 package of bacon bits
--1 dessert (cookies, bars, etc.)
--1 12 pack pop
