Junior high track at Mankato tomorrow. The bus leaves at 12:00 from the high school. On the way home, we will stop at the Haddam corner if needed. Email or text Coach Misty Baker if you want to pick your kid up from the Haddam corner. Students will call or text when we are back in Belleville so parents can be at the corner when we get there. Yesterday, Bentley Stallbaumer, his classmates, and teachers welcomed Kent Schnakenberg to our school. Kent travels with his cycling team, Team Schnak, raising awareness and support for juvenile type 1 diabetes. His team participates in JDRF events all over the USA and in Canada. We were amazed by the number of miles he's cycled, the places he's been to, the people he's met, and the amount of money their team has raised. Kent taught us about the symptoms of T1D, bicycle safety, and to never pass up the opportunity to help somebody in need. We were able to see his cool black truck, his BIG bicycle (Kent's a tall guy🙂), and we really liked his new shoes! Team Schnak gave us some brilliant shirts to wear with the symptoms of T1D on them. By wearing the shirts, we will be able to help educate others of T1D symptoms. We are grateful to be a part of Kent's journey!
