The Greenhand Land Judging team from WCHS placed first in the district competition on September 21st in Norway, Kansas. Korey Nutsch led the team and placed as the first high individual in the Greenhand division! Jonathan Wright placed 4th, Joree Bentz 5th, Lucas Thompson 8th, Eli Chandler 9th and Brianne Fincham was just out of the top ten in 11th. Alyssa Jueneman and Madisyn Lohse helped to round out our team and collectively, they all finished as this year's district champion team. Congratulations Greenhands!


District Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation took place on September 21 in Norway, Kansas. Senior Land team finished in 2nd place and was led by sophomore Kileab Wilbrandt who finished as the 2nd place individual in the competition. Jaydon Otott placed ninth and additional team members were Elizabeth Wright and Carson Kearn. In the homesite portion of the event, Jaydon Otott placed 4th and Carson Kearn earned the 8th place spot in the event.


District Greenhand Conference was Sept 14th in Salina. Several WCHS FFA Greenhands participated in the events, including the Leadership Information exam. Those placing in the top 10% and earning their first FFA District medal included Gavyn LeDuc and Alyssa Jueneman, who tied for 4th place, Brody Applegarth was 6th place, Joree Bentz and Destyni Christenson tied for 7th, and Hayden Englert and Lucas Thompson tied for 8th place individually. Additional students all finished in the top 1/3 of the nearly 400 students in attendance. They were Emiliano Martinez, Eli Chandler, Jonathan Wright, Korey Nutsch, Brianne Fincham, Ryan Sawin, and Madisyn Lohse.

This afternoon we stopped for a few cattle and a couple of cowboys! It's always an adventure on Mrs. Gano's bus!



Our focus in counseling lessons has been T for teamwork in our theme TIGER. Practicing our skills of communication, listening, sharing ideas, and building each other up has been fun with teamwork activities!





Mrs. Walter’s second grade class is learning about observable properties. Today we observed different crackers to identify the texture, size, shape, and color.




The little tiger clinic is next week! The forms are going out today and are due back to the school by Friday. This year the clinic will be held on Thursday October 6th from 6:00-8:00pm. The performance will be that next day, Friday October 7th during halftime of the boys varsity football game. The cost for the clinic is $20.

Our junior High runners ran hard today at our home Junior High Invitational! Nora was our only medalist, but Charley, Kuri, and Coy all pushed hard and finished their 2 mile races.
