Our Chapter FCCLA Voting Delegates spent time after school listening to and voting on National FCCLA Officer Candidates and Kansas FCCLA State Board positions. Even though it was virtual, the process went smoothly and allowed our members to make important decisions for our organization.

Chemistry students know how to follow the law. What law? The law of conservation of energy. Using a calorimeter and the heat gained= heat lost formula of energy conservation, students collected data so they can calculate the specific heat of a metal sample (copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, or brass). My students definitely say, “Working in lab is cool.” (but this lab was hot! [hot plates...get it? 😀

Here’s a “Thank You” to Vickie Chalfant for donating this great book to the high school library!
