5th graders are working on a faux stained glass project in art today.

Mrs. Rundle’s second grade small group activity today was a STEM activity. The students had to work together to make a wind powered maze. Through this activity, they learned about the words: push, kinetic energy, friction, and obstacle. The students could only use connecting blocks to make it, they had to work together as a team to make a plan, And then build the maze and make any corrections to the plan that they discovered while making it. Then they raced the glitter balls through the maze using fat straws. Tomorrow, they will race again using different straws and balls to see what works the best to go through the maze the fastest. They learn teamwork, social end emotional skills, vocabulary and worked with numbers for this project.
