This is the last of the 2023-24 woods projects from this past year. Jayden did a great job on her oak dresser. It turned out really nice and I am proud of her for building an advanced project and working hard to complete it in a school year. Good job, Jayden!

Good Morning,
Here is your weekly newsletter with information for the upcoming week.
Friday December 13th we will have a state trooper from the Kansas Highway Patrol helping out our FCCLA Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety STAR Event team. They will be presenting to the students in groups by class. Below is a link to a seatbelt simulator some students will have the opportunity to experience. Please discuss this with your students whether or not you wish for them to participate in the simulator. All students will hear a message from the trooper about Seatbelt Safety.

Let's have a great week!

I wish I could share videos!! The magic that our USD 108 students created today was out of this world!
I couldn't be more proud of our district honor band participants. Tucker Huband was selected as the 11th chair trumpet and Joselyn Sanchez was selected as the 12th chair flute. To be selected in the district honor band takes a huge amount of work, time, and devotion to musicianship. These two students have both proven to be among the best in our district. Both musicians worked with the Director of Jazz bands at Kansas Wesleyan, Jake Montoya. Both kids loved this experience and learned so much.
Also in attendance today was Alternate selection, Zoe Sawin(alternates don't participate unless the first selection is unable). We did have a couple surprise faces in the audience today for the kids! Senior Music students Mackenzie Kuhanek, Faith Uribe, and Aviana Hertz came to surprise Josi for her Final District band concert, and Principal Jordan Carlson brought her beautiful family along as well! (Director fail I forgot to take their photo)! We are so grateful to the North Central district for putting on a fantastic event! Bring on All State auditions!!

Santa is at Thrivent in Washington until 3pm today.

Ms. Zoeller's and Mrs. Baker's 4th graders, missing a few, were looking sharp for their Christmas concert tonight.

Tomorrow we have 3 student musicians that will be traveling to Manhattan for the NCKMEA District Honor Band. Tucker Huband, Zoe Sawin, and Joselyn Sanchez qualified via blind auditions in Early November. If you would like to come and watch their performance we would love to have you. The performance will be held in Manhattan at the High School Rezac Auditorium. Their concert will start at 3:30pm. They will be under the direction of Jake Montoya, Director of Jazz bands at Kansas Wesleyan.

Reminder of Santa visiting Washington Saturday, Dec. 7th at 2pm at the Thrivent building in town. FBLA members are helping Santa by handing out hot chocolate, reindeer food, ornaments, and hosting a coloring station for service men/women and/or write a letter to Santa. We look forward to seeing all the children.
