Today's meet at Riley County turned into a large meet with many 3-4A schools joining this meet when they realized this is where their Regionals will be in 2 weeks. Our Tigers didn't let that slow them down. Even though we didn't have any medalists, Atticus, Nora, Addy, and Angel all ran faster today than they did last year on this course. It was the first time for Madison, Emery, and Lyle to run it at 3.1 mile distance. Addy also ran a season record today.

I cannot express how incredibly proud I am of our boys. They played the most solid game of football to date. From the first whistle to the last every player brought their A game. Every player played and contributed tonight with some recording personal bests. I promised if we had the opportunity to play our second and third string I would. When that opportunity came they realized that our lone senior had a chance to break a school record and unanimously agreed that he be given the opportunity before they played. An act of selflessness by the boys that get little playing time so our leader could make history. History was made and the Junior Varsity got significant playing time. Sometimes it’s not the score but the players that make the game the greatest game on earth.

Alyssa Jueneman, FBLA state treasurer, Layla Tholstrup, chapter president, and adviser, Michelle Bruna traveled to Hanover today for a chapter visit. The students talked about Washington County's FBLA activities and state activities and the importance of dedication and time commitment if a student wants to attend nationals. After the meeting, the students ate lunch with the Hanover students. Such dedication on a day off from classes. #kansasfbla

🐾 Washington County Tigers Volleyball Update 🐾
The Tigers faced Clifton-Clyde tonight, and it was a challenging evening across all teams.
🔴 A Team: fell short but showed improvement in the second set, fighting to find some rhythm ⚫ B Team: showed strong effort and solid play throughout their match 🔴 C Team: competed well and showed moments of great teamwork
It wasn’t our night, and we know we have work to do — especially with communication and energy on the court. But every game gives us a chance to learn, reset, and grow stronger together.
Even on the hard days, we’re proud of the athletes who continue to show up, push forward, and represent Washington County with heart. We’ll regroup, refocus, and keep working toward the team we know we can be. 🏐

Saturday all of our XC runners will be running at the Riley County Invitational in Leonardville. This is our largest meet with almost 400 runners expected. Our Tigers are ready for the challenge. There is fun run for young kids before. It would be fun to see some future runners make the run too!

It was a great night for the high school volleyball team as they picked up two hard fought wins! 25-22 and 25-23 over D-West 25-19, 28-30, 25-23 over Blue Valley This team has came a long ways this year and continues to improve down the stretch. We are also learning how to win, which is huge! The crowd was great again tonight! Thanks to all who came out and cheered the girls on to victory!

Mr. Edmond's Government class went to the courthouse today. Students learned about how voting works, registered to vote if 18 and walked around to the different departments and learned how they operated.

🐾 Washington County Tigers Volleyball Update 🐾
The Tigers hit the court at the tournament today in Linn and showed great growth and grit throughout the day.
🔴 vs. Luckey – took the match to three sets, battling hard but falling just short ⚫ vs. Linn – faced a strong Linn team and continued to learn and adjust 🔴 vs. Blue Valley – came together as a team, showing determination, fight, and heart even though the match didn’t go our way
We’re proud of the progress and resilience our athletes displayed. They continue to learn how to compete with focus and support each other through every point.
Next up ➡️ Home game this Thursday! Let’s keep building and bring that Tiger energy! 🏐

It was kind of a mixed bag day for the high school volleyball team. Those that were in attendance will know what I mean. We finished in 4th place with an overall record of 2-3 on the day. We played pretty well in a win vs Thunder Ridge to open the day. Played okay in a loss to an undefeated at the time Rock Hills team in the second game of the day. Didn't play so great in a win vs Lincoln to advance to the semi-finals. Played great in a loss to the eventual tourney champ in Linn. And maybe lost a game we could have won vs Republic County for 3rd place. Thanks to all who came to cheer us on! Go Tigers!!!
