Washington County Elementary School is excited to announce we are the recipient of the prestigious Challenge Award. The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 97 schools (out of 1305 total schools) as recipients of the 2024 Challenge Awards. The award recognizes Kansas schools that are making a notable difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in their school population. Mrs. McCall's freshmen in Earth and Space Science will be participating in an orienteering event at a pasture near Onaga, Kansas on May 7, 2025. Student groups will be using compasses and maps to find locations throughout a pasture and answering questions at each location. Each student group will need an adult volunteer to assist. Mrs. McCall is looking for volunteers. You do not need to have previous experience with orienteering, but experience with compasses is preferred. If you would like to volunteer, please email Mrs. McCall at cmccall@usd108.org by April 25, 2025. Bus transportation will be available.
