Washington County High school would like to extend an invitation to all local veterans and their families to attend our Veterans Day celebration at the school tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. We would also like to extend this invitation to all of the patrons of our community.
The Music department, along with the FCCLA, and History department would love for everyone to attend and show their support for our local heroes.
The event will start at 9 a.m. with the playing of our National Anthem. There will be an introduction of our local veterans, as well as guest speaker Kahm Flanhary's presentation. We will also have a musical number by our high school choir and 7-12 band.
Following the program we will have time set aside for a meet and greet to allow the public and our student body the chance to meet, get to know, and thank our hero's.
We would love for you to attend and show your support.
Please pass this information along to any and all veterans that you know.

Community Cookbook. FBLA's current community service project is the creation of a community cookbook and we need your help. We are asking for recipes to include in the cookbook. Recipes are due by Thanksgiving to a dropbox at the high school or the Washington City office or by email to tigerdesigns@usd108.org. Our goal is to have the cookbook ready for Christmas gifts. Proceeds will benefit the community playground. Thank you in advance for your help!

WCHS Juniors are all over Kansas this week participating in the job shadow program. Some are here in Washington, like Jayden at WCH Radiology Department. Others went a lot further like Joree doing therapeutic horse work in Wichita and Tucker and Elin following flight instructors at K-State Salina. Have a great week Juniors!

Congratulations to our NCKMEA musician selections!! Out of our 15 kids who went to audition we had two make the cut and one make the alternate list!!
I am so excited to announce Joselyn Sanchez, flute, and Tucker Huband, trumpet, were selected to the NCKMEA Honor Band and Zoe Sawin, Bari Sax, was selected as alternate.
They will travel to Manhattan December 7, 2024 to work with a clinician and musicians from all over the North Central district. They will then perform a concert at the end of the day.
Making this band allows them the opportunity to try out for the All State Band, in Wichita in February. Congratulations to all those who participated yesterday. It was a day of tough competition and your dedication to practice paid off!

These seniors have completed their XC careers as Washington County Tigers. They were all great leaders , worked hard, and will definitely be missed next year. Thank you, MaKenna, Kenzie, Garrett, and Garrison. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger!

Well, we made it to November. It's hard to believe there are only about 7 school weeks left of 2024. Let's make each of them count. Here is your weekly newsletter.

15 Washington County High School students competed today in Junction City at the District auditions for Band and Choir spots. The Director failed at a group photo at 6am when leaving, but we did snag some happy faces at the end of the day, when we found out they could have ice cream!
Today also marked a new milestone for a Junior High Tiger. Reid Scheer earned a spot via recorded audition a month ago to participate in the NCKMEA Middle Level (junior high) choir. Reid was among almost 150 Junior high kids participating. They worked today with a former college professor from 8:15 this morning until 2:30 this afternoon. Putting on a concert that received a standing ovation from a packed concert hall. We are so proud of him for all his hard work.
Competing were: Seniors- Mackenzie Kuhaneck, Lesyle Martinez, Helena Larsen, Aviana Hertz, and Joselyn Sanchez.
Juniors: Tucker Hubband and Brianne Fincham
Sophmores: Kelly Annunziato, Allisson Cisneroz, Cayden Meadows, and Emma O'Rourke.
Freshman: Witt Keesecker, Adelyn Oakes, Zoe Sawin, and Charlie Yungeberg.
Washington County can be proud of the musicians for all their hard work and dedication. We will find out this week who made which groups. But no matter the outcome I am so thankful lol these students took the time to work and advance their music skills on this Saturday.

Kenzie Baker has finished up her high school career with a 20th place at state XC. She ran through the rain, mud, and yuck to earn the medal. Kenzie finishes as the most decorated XC runner for Washington County. In 6 years of running (junior high and high school) she has medaled in all but 2 meets she has competed in. Kenzie, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and positive representation of Washington County.
Thanks to the rest of the high school XC team, fans, and family that came out today and braved the weather! Once a tiger, Always a tiger!

A run we all will never forget! It's a rainy muddy mess here in Wamego State XC and the races will still go on. Kenzie runs at 12:00!

Tiger Designs thanks Kenzie Baker for letting them design and produce her shirt. It was a pleasure to design something for such a deserving, hard -working student athlete. We are rooting for you!
