Emma with a nice cedar BBQ station. This can also hold a cooler if so desired. She did a great job using cedar that was milled last year. It turned out well and is neat to see a cedar log a year or so ago made into something functional. Good job, Emma!

Michael with a cool picnic table built out of treated lumber. This picnic table has a secret in that it conveniently turns into a pair of benches. What a neat dual-purpose project to build. Good job, Michael.

4th graders spent part of the day reviewing for state assessments with glow day activities.

Washington County High School was recently notified that Talena McClellan was named a Rudd Scholar. She was selected as one of 700 applicants to complete the application process, one of 75 to interview, and one of 45 awarded. The committee selects students not based on what they lack but on what they possess in terms of hard work, grit, determination, and character. They are not looking for the brightest or busiest. They are searching for students who persevere. The ones who, though they get knocked down, get right back up. Those who will strive harder than everyone else and continue to meet their challenges head-on. Potential scholars possess traits like fortitude, tenacity, ambition, and resolve. We are so proud of Talena and wish her well in her future endeavors! #betigerstrong #ruddfoundation
