4th graders competed in the IReady math challenge before spring break. The winners for Mrs. Baker's class were Easton, Carter N, Hunter, and Daniel. Winners in Ms. Myers class were Cooper, Jacie, Bo, Gael. The first place winners won a Math Champ shirt and the others won Casey's gift cards.

Mrs. Baker's class has an experiment going thanks to Washington Farm Bureau. They have started the "Farming in a Bag" experiment. Which will grow better, the glove on the window or the walls that contain seeds of soybeans, corn, oats, wheat, or alfalfa?
The Great Kindness Challenge committee chairpeople presented to the school board last night. The school board recognized these outstanding 6th grade students for their hard work preparing for the school wide challenge.

Congratulations to our very own John Kern for being named a Kansas Golden Owl Finalist. Kansas FFA Foundation, the Golden Owl Award recognizes agricultural educators for their tremendous contributions to helping the next generation of agricultural leaders. Who inspires you?
My students, I come to school each day with the intention of helping my students become better people.
What is your favorite hobby?
I have several. My family has a hobby farm where we raise miniature pigs, goats, rabbits, alpacas, and chickens. I also enjoy watching K-State sports and the Kansas City Chiefs and in the summer you can find me listening to the Royals on the Radio. During downtime, you can find me reading.
What would it be if you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life?
Mexican food, I love a good Mexican food buffet.
What is your favorite part of the school day?
I look forward to working with my kids in all my groups.
