Our Washington County FCCLA chapter received their results from STAR Events today along with district awards. Our chapter was recognized for Increased Membership with the highest honor, Second place for Power of One Units completed, and Third place in the STAR Event Participation Award! Members may choose from over 50 competitive events which apply knowledge and skills learned in Family and Consumer Sciences. Competitive events set students up for career success as members explore Career Pathways and address important personal, societal, and work issues through competing at the district, state, and national levels. STAR Event results are as follows: Professional Presentation L2-Kady Toole and Abi Sawin—First Place, State Qualifier. Repurpose & Redesign L2–Michaela Jueneman & Tiffani Allerheiligen- First Place, State Qualifer. Repurpose & Redesign L3–Alyssa Jensen & Kirsten Ouellette, First Place, State Qualifier. Sustainability Challenge L2–Emily Jones & Riley Dusin- First Place, State Qualifier. Chapter Service Project L2–Kori Miller & Makenna Hertz, Second Place. National Programs In Action L2–Emma Fulton & Malorie Tegethoff, Third Place. National Programs In Action L3-Garrett Kohlmeyer & Chase Riley, Second Place. Career Investigation L3–Rachael Craig, First Place, State Qualifier. State competitions will be April 5-7 in Wichita.

Another meet in the books! Boys placed second in team, Kaleb Grace missed medaling by two pins placing 4th just ahead of Cody Metz. In girls competition Allie Rumsey finished 2nd. Next meet will be tomorrow in Topeka at Gage Bowl in the Hayden HS Quad @ 3:30.
