WCHS hosted JV golf yesterday at Cedar Hills Golf Course. Tiger golf had 5 competitors out of a total of 35 golfers— great turn out for this tournament. This was the first meet of their high school career for a couple of them. We played really well given the windy conditions. Way to go!

The High School Tiger track team competed at Frankfort today. Today was a hot and windy day. The weather did not however hinder our Tigers competitive spirit!! The Tigers showed up to compete and the girls came home with the team title while the boys got second!!! The coaches are very proud of our athletes and their competitiveness!!

The eggs are stuffed and ready for Saturday. The Easter bunny helped the FBLA members stuff eggs these last 2 weeks. We hope to see many children and former students at the courthouse Saturday at 10am for the Easter Egg hunt!
Gavyn is pictured with a beautiful oak desk that he built. It turned out well, and it will serve him for years to come. He worked hard to build this and other projects in one school year.

WCHS FFA competed in the Veterinary Science Event in Beloit on April 3rd. The Greenhand Team of freshmen finished at the District Champion team, sweeping the top three spots with Rowley Keesecker 1st, Witt Keesecker 2nd, and Madison Linck finishing in 3rd Place, and Addy Oakes finished 14th. In the senior division, McKenzie Baker placed 4th in the senior division on the event. Congratulations Vet Science Crew!
Congratulations to all WCHS Juniors and Seniors that received the TVL All Academic award! Way to represent WCHS! To receive this award you must sustain a 3.7 or better accumulative GPA and compete in a minimum of 3 different KSHSAA recognized activities.

Washington County Elementary School is excited to announce we are the recipient of the prestigious Challenge Award. The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 97 schools (out of 1305 total schools) as recipients of the 2024 Challenge Awards. The award recognizes Kansas schools that are making a notable difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in their school population. The Challenge Award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishments based on Kansas Assessment results in math and reading, graduation rates, chronic absenteeism rates and the socio-economic status of those taking the test. Mrs. McCall's freshmen in Earth and Space Science will be participating in an orienteering event at a pasture near Onaga, Kansas on May 7, 2025. Student groups will be using compasses and maps to find locations throughout a pasture and answering questions at each location. Each student group will need an adult volunteer to assist. Mrs. McCall is looking for volunteers. You do not need to have previous experience with orienteering, but experience with compasses is preferred. If you would like to volunteer, please email Mrs. McCall at cmccall@usd108.org by April 25, 2025. Bus transportation will be available.
Yesterday, the Washington Rotary Club recognized a senior from each high school in Washington County. WCHS senior McKenzie Baker was the chosen recipient of this honor from the Class of 2025. These seniors were recognized for their leadership and service towards their school and community. Congratulations McKenzie! #BeTigerStrong
