Teamwork, Integrity, Grit, Empathy, Reflect & Repeat. These are qualities we look for in leaders at Washington County Junior High / High School. This week we recognized five students who were identified by teachers as individuals who consistently show these qualities and exemplify what it means to #BeTigerStrong. Our Quarter 1 Tiger Leaders are (left to right): Madison Thompson (8th Grade), Nora Brabec (9th Grade), Allisson Cisneros (10th Grade), Mr. Brax (HS Math), Destyni Christenson (11th Grade) and Trista Crome (12th Grade). We're so proud of these students and appreciate their leadership in our school.

Thank you to all the parents that came to play practice Monday night! Costumes and the set are really coming together! We are in need of TWO THIN POOL NOODLES that will not be returned and we still need a "glass" slipper. Please let Mrs. Toole know if you have any of those things. AND MARK YOUR CALENDAR to come see the show.

First sorry for the late post it was a very late night. I want to start by saying I could not be more proud of our team. We didn’t win (32-38) BUT we were competitive until the very end. Our offensive and defensive play drastically improved last night and we are looking to keep that momentum going into this Friday’s home game. I’ve received a lot of questions about Jacob Elliot’s injury. He is lost for the season the coaches are all wishing him a speedy recovery.

WCHS fans heading to the HS Football game at Downs-Lakeside. Highway 36 east of Smith County Line is currently shut down due to fires. I have also been informed parts of I70 are closed as well. Drive safe!

Our 2nd Grade had Grandparent's Day today. We loved sharing a song, reader's theatre, cookies, and lemonades with some of our favorite people.

On October 16th, the WCHS FFA attended the Dairy Cattle Evaluation Competition and Industry Tour held at Ohlde Dairy Inc. at Linn. Linn FFA hosted the event which consisted of seven judging classes, reasons, a tour of the Ohlde Dairy and an informational exam about the dairy industry. WCHS FFA Greenhands finished as the first place team in their division, with Witt Keesecker earning the top overall spot, and Rowley Keesecker right behind him in 3rd place. Braylen Meier finished just out of the top 10 in a tie for 14th place. In the senior division, Amber Kolle led the Tigers by finishing 12th place individually and the team finished in 4th. Congratulations WCHS!

Sometimes we truly light a fire 🔥 in the classroom to foster student learning. The chemistry students used the lab burners to collect data from a "Flame Test" activity. Each element tested gave off different wavelengths of light which created a unique flame color.

JH Football ended the season with a loss to Hanover. We were 45'd with 2 seconds remaining in the 4th. 52-6. We showed many signs of improvement from the 1st week. This team played physical and hard all season. I am proud of that. We'll take a week off, then it's basketball!

The boys xc team competed well today at the TVL meet in Onaga. The south dry wind was tough today and our boys didn't back down. Garrison was our top finisher at 10th place and earned All League honors. He has earned All League Honors 3 years in high school. Lucas ran very strong and was 24th, Ryan had a great sprint finish andwas 28th, and Garrett ran strong and was right behind him in 29th. Atticus didn't run today because he was sick. Bring on Regionals October 26th. Thanks to the Ruby Reds for your support. It makes running 3.1 miles a little easier!

It's time to build the play set and we need some help! If you have some building skills we could use you. We have flats/walls already, but we need people to move them in and put them together so they are sturdy. If you've got tools, can use tools, have a truck, or just some muscles we could use your help on Monday night at 6:30 on the high school stage.
